A 23-year-old Portage County man has entered a not guilty plea in the fatal shooting of his roommate. Deion Jones made a Monday court appearance to enter that plea. Deonte Lezine was killed two years ago in a drug deal that went bad near the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus. The shooter, Kyle Engen, is serving an 18-year sentence on a second-degree intentional homicide conviction. Jones is charged with felony murder for driving a car involved in the March 2016 shooting. Investigators say he knew of the plot to try to steal the marijuana and had arranged the meeting.
