No matter which candidate wins tomorrow’s Republican primary for the United States Senate, it will have been a costly race. Candidates Leah Vukmir and Kevin Nicholson have spent a combined 36.9 million dollars. Both of them are spending big to earn the right to take on Democratic incumbent Senator Tammy Baldwin in November. Nearly half of the big bucks spent on the race have come from outside the state, with most of the money going for attack ads focusing on Baldwin or Vukmir. Despite the negative campaigning, Vukmir has been quoted as saying she expects to unite with Nicholson the day after the primary is over.
