Although Milwaukee County seems to be somewhat successful in its effort to end chronic homelessness, a tent city is growing near the courthouse. About 20 tents are located in MacArthur Square, just east of the main county building. County workers have been reporting more people living in tents all around Wisconsin’s largest city. Several homeless outreach groups are providing resources like meals, lunches, clothing and hygiene items. County officials say they have received a few complaints, but there is no timeline now for moving the homeless out of the area.
