Robinson Metal of De Pere has purchased the former Manitowoc Company Crane building on Manitowoc’s south side. The company announced today that they have purchased the 112,000 square foot building located at 2121 S. 30th St. that they had been leasing.
Robinson has been doing production work in the building since May of this year, and expects to employ close to 100 people over the next few years. Sam Thomas, the operations manager for Robinson, said the building is a perfect fit for them with its overhead height and lifting capabilities. He added that “we are very excited to become part of the community and expand the Robinson Metal family to the lakeshore.”
The company is a single-source metal fabrication and engineering supplier with six divisions employing more than 375 people. Robinson Metal had held a ribbon cutting ceremony at their new plant just a week ago.
