A 20-person crew of specially-trained firefighters has traveled from Rhinelander to Colorado to help battle a wildfire. An estimated nine-thousand acres have burned near Lake Christine in Eagle County, Colorado. The team of forest service, D-N-R, and tribal firefighters met at the Wisconsin Interagency Coordination Center Sunday for departure. Members were briefed about high-elevation firefighters and told the area they will be working in is hot and dry. They will stay in Colorado for two weeks, then replacements will arrive from other parts of the country.
