A 17-year-old high school student will do 40 hours of community service and must apologize to the Barron School Board for making a threat. Witnesses told investigators Austin Banks threatened to “shoot up the school” last March, saying he would “get more than 17 people.” He was apparently referring to the high school shooting in Florida which left 17 people dead. Banks said he was joking, but he was still arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He could have received up to three months in jail.
