Work is progressing on the Rubick Field Renovation project on Manitowoc’s southside. WOMT Sports visited Ron Rubick Municipal Athletic Field recently and spoke with Manitowoc Public School District Athletic Director Dave Steavpack. He says ‘alot of work has taken place in the past 2-and-a-half weeks.’
The A-D says ‘better drainage’ will be part of the improvement at the historic field.
Other major features of the renovation will include new VISITORS bleachers..with storage underneath and new L-E-D lighting to provide a significant upgrade on the present lights. Sound System and the scoreboard with video display will be relocated to the North end of the field so fans can see it upon entering thru the Rubick Field Entrance Plaza. A scrimmage for varsity and jv football will be held on August 10th, a soccer game the week after that and a field recognition night is scheduled for August 23rd for soccer and the first HOME football game. Steavpack says when it’s finished the new field will not only be the best in the Fox River Classic Conference, but also in Northeast Wisconsin.
