Two Chicago men were found guilty of aggravated battery and false imprisonment in Manitowoc County Circuit Court. 29 year old Christopher Calalang and 35 year old Christian Calalang, had their sentence stayed, and will each serve six years’ probation, including 12 months in county jail, and both received 379 days of sentence credit. In April of Last year, Newton officials found a 57 year old man with injuries to his head and body. The victim told officers that he was taken against his will by three men to Chicago, then back to the Manitowoc area. The third man involved in the attack is Marnie Ferry, who remains in the Manitowoc County Jail. He is facing charges of attempted homicide and false imprisonment. Ferry’s plea date has been scheduled for Friday June 29th at 11:00 AM in the Manitowoc County Courthouse.
