The U-S Supreme Court has ruled against Wisconsin Democrats who challenged the way the state’s legislative districts are redrawn after each census. The Monday ruling also affected a similar case out of Maryland. The high court didn’t give the definitive ruling the sides wanted as it considers taking up a new case from North Carolina. Many onlookers were hoping the court would address the broader issue of whether electoral maps give an unfair advantage to the political party in power. Attorney General Brad Schimel, a Republican, says the ruling is “a win for the rule of law in Wisconsin.”
