A new ice rink is open in Ashwaubenon.
A ribbon-cutting for the Cornerstone Community Center and Donald and Patricia Schneider Family Arena was held last Friday, welcoming athletes, families, and friends to lace up their skates and take center ice.
The event included giveaways, local food trucks, and self-guided tours of the new facility.
Attendees then stuck around for the first hockey game played as the St. Norbert College men’s team faced off against Oswego State.
Cornerstone Community Board of Directors Vice President Stephanie Dutkowski says the community ice rink’s benefits are already being felt and will serve more people across the region.
Since the end of the pandemic, the group has seen an increase in demand for programs and facilities that support youth, high school, college, and adult hockey programs.
More information about the ice center arena is available at cornerstoneicecenter.org.
