A Lincoln High School alumni was a part of the team of artists who sculpted the Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial in Washington, D.C.
After graduating from LHS, Patrick Burke became an apprentice in a woodcarving village in the Italian Alps.
He then returned to Wisconsin and built his career as a sculptor, ornamental carver, designer, and furniture maker.
He is now one of the artists who sculpted this historic memorial in the nation’s capital.
The memorial opened on October 24th and was built to honor those who served and the 34-nation coalition that united to liberate Kuwait.
