A person has died after a crash in Kewaunee County.
Sheriff Matt Joski said deputies were called to the intersection of State Highway 54 and Walhain Road just after 12:45 p.m. yesterday for a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Luxemburg.
The initial investigation shows a minivan was traveling eastbound on Highway 54 when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a cargo truck traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene, while Luxemburg Rescue took the cargo truck driver with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Office did not provide the ages or genders of the people in both vehicles.
The names of the people will not be released at this time, pending family notification.
Kewaunee County deputies were assisted at the scene by Luxemburg Police, Wisconsin State Patrol, Luxemburg Fire Rescue, and Luxemburg-Casco First Responders. The crash remains under investigation.
