The Two Rivers Public School District is trying to help the community better understand school funding.
They will host an event titled Facts Above Fiction next Monday (November 9th), beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Two Rivers High School, Room 218.
Roger Price with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards will share information on school finance covering topics like a revenue cap, the state’s voucher program, special education funding, and state aid versus property taxes.
District Finance Director Mary Kay Slattery said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program Tuesday that school funding is a complicated process, and Price will help break it down.
“He’s been in the school finance business for a number of years, so he knows a lot,” she noted. “He has a lot of experience, and he’ll bring that to Two Rivers.”
Two Rivers Public Schools recently approved their tax levy during their last full board meeting in October.
Their next school board meeting will follow the presentation at 5:45 p.m., when they could approve their 2027 budget.
