A 15-year-old Fond du Lac teen has been arrested for making a mass shooting threat.
The initial report of a potentially serious threat of violence was submitted to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center and was shared with local and state authorities.
The tip originated from an individual outside the United States who expressed concern based on online interactions with the teen.
The Fond du Lac Police Department conducted a search warrant on October 27th at the suspect’s home and seized multiple firearms, a computer, and a cell phone.
Then, on November 3rd, Detectives conducted an additional interview with the juvenile and booked them in the Fond du Lac County Secure Detention Facility on charges of Terrorist Threats and Disorderly Conduct.
The case remains active, and the Fond du Lac Police Department thanked everyone involved in the investigation.
The Department also stated, “Information, even when it originates outside our community or involves online activity, must be evaluated and acted upon. We are grateful to the individuals and partner agencies who recognize concerning behavior, share information, and help ensure that potential threats are brought to the attention of law enforcement.”
