A Manitowoc woman has been sentenced for her role in an overdose death.
40-year-old Halli Bubolz was previously found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a charge of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, while additional charges of Manufacturing or Delivering Fentanyl, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were dismissed but read into the record.
Bubolz was before Judge Robert Dewane, who ordered her to spend ten years in prison followed by five years on extended supervision.
The investigation began last October when the Manitowoc Police Department was called to the 1100 block of South 14th Street.
There, they found a man who had died from an overdose of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
During the investigation that followed, authorities located Discord messages showing Bubolz and the victim chatting about getting and using fentanyl.
Later, she would admit to police that she gave the victim the fentanyl that ultimately led to their death.
Bubolz was given credit for 295 days served, and upon her release, she will be required to maintain absolute sobriety, submit to random urine screens, maintain full-time employment, schooling, job search, or a combination, and pay restitution in the amount of $9,305 to the victim’s parents.
