A Manitowoc taxi company is temporarily suspending service.
In a post on its Facebook page, Maritime Cab says that after a van fire, it doesn’t have a vehicle to continue providing service.
The cab company calls the fire another setback and sincerely apologizes to everyone who depends on them for rides to work, appointments, errands, and more.
In a previous post, the Maritime Cab family explains that they are also dealing with the challenges of gas, insurance, maintenance, and everything else that keeps their cabs on the road.
That caused an increase in their one-way fares around Manitowoc to $10, while a trip to Two Rivers cost $14.
On a positive note, the group says it is working hard to figure out its next steps and get back on the road as soon as possible.
They also say they truly appreciate the patience, understanding, and support of the community.
