Seehafer Broadcasting will take over PetSkull Brewing Company for a special weekend.
WOMT 100 will host its own Taproom Takeover, beginning Friday (November 6th) at 6:00 p.m.
Seehafer Broadcasting Vice President Terry Stevenson says something special should be done not only to end the year, but to recognize the weekend WOMT first went on the air in 1926.
: “WOMT went on the air on November 8th (1926),” he explained. “And so, this Friday is like the kickoff weekend of that anniversary.”
WOMT is not only 100 PetSkull’s Business Brew of the Month, but some of the proceeds from the Taproom Takeover will benefit both Hope House and the Haven of Manitowoc County.
The night also includes music from Chicago Mule and the special tapping of WOMT’s specially created beer called “Don’t Touch That Dial.”
Stevenson says it’s a raspberry chocolate stout that his team and Paul Hoffman with PetSkull had worked on.
“When we were starting to think about what kind of beer we wanted to brew, we started thinking about the brand of WOMT, the color scheme of WOMT,” he explained. “You know, red is a big part of this. And so we thought, you know what, let’s do a hint of raspberry in this. So we came up with the idea of this raspberry (chocolate) stout, and it’s going to be amazing.”
Stevenson says there has been a lot of celebrating this year with WOMT’s 100-year anniversary, but this is one of the best ways to wrap it up as 2026 nears its end.
Stevenson adds, “This is our way of raising a glass, doing a toast, honoring the legacy. Thinking about not just this past year of all that we accomplished. But think about what this station has done for our community in 100 years.”
The vice president also added that he is proud of this team and the late nights some had trying to make the celebration possible.
But he feels that Seehafer Broadcasting has done a wonderful job celebrating and set a high bar for radio stations that could be celebrating 100 years of broadcasting.
The evening is sponsored with help from Hubbard Electric.
