The 2026 Boys Soccer State Semifinals have been set.
Starting on Thursday in Division 1, undefeated and #1 Hudson will take on #4 Verona at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. Hudson has an unbeaten 43-match streak (37-0-6) over the past two seasons. They tied Marquette 3-3 in last year’s semifinals before being eliminated in a shootout. For the Wildcats of Verona, this is their fourth appearance at the state semifinals and their first since 2022. The Wildcats boast a 5-1 record in the state tournament, having won titles in two of their three appearances in 2019 and 2022.
The other Division 1 game will see #2 Arrowhead take on #3 Marquette. The Warhawks are back in the field for the first time since 2020 and make their eighth appearance at state. Marquette is making its state-leading 24th appearance at state.
In Division 2, it will be a battle of Red Raiders as #1 Wauwatosa East takes on #4 Pulaski, which won a shootout over Fox Valley Lutheran to advance to state. Pulaski shut out all four of their regional and sectional opponents, and last appeared at state back in 2022. Wauwatosa East won state titles in their previous two appearances in 1990 and 1998.
The other matchup Thursday will see #2 Whitefish Bay take on #3 Monona Grove. The Silver Eagles lost in the semifinal round in all three of their previous appearances and are looking to break that streak on Thursday. The Blue Dukes of Whitefish Bay won it all last season and are looking to do it again this year, which would make it their 9th state championship.
Division 3 and 4 games take place on Friday. #1 St. Thomas More will take on #4 Rice Lake. The Cavaliers of St. Thomas More are tied with Verona for the longest winning streak entering this year’s tournament, winning nine straight contests and claiming the Metro Classic Conference title. The Warriors of Rice Lake are participating in the WIAA State Tournament for the first time since 2021 and its sixth overall.
The other match will see #2 Kettle Moraine Lutheran and #3 Edgerton battle it out in state semifinals. The Edgerton Tide is the only new team in the field this year, bringing with them an undefeated record into the tournament. The Chargers of Kettle Moraine Lutheran outscored their four regional and sectional opponents by a combined 22-0 in qualifying for the state tournament.
Finally, in Division Four, #4 Xavier (Appleton) will take on #1 Lake Country Lutheran on Friday. The Hawks make their sixth trip to state and have been successful in their five other appearances with four titles and an 8-1 all-time record. Lake Country Lutheran brings an 18-match unbeaten streak into this year’s event.
The other Division 4 matchup includes #2 Northland Pines and #3 Cristo Rey Jesuit. The Eagles of Northland Pines are the only undefeated team in the Division 4 field. Cristo Rey Jesuit made its only state tournament appearance in 2022 and emerged as the Division 4 state champion.
Following all state semifinal games, the state championship games will take place this Saturday.
