Voting booths stand ready for use in a U.S. election.
Voters are reminded to be prepared if they are voting in person today.
Manitowoc City Clerk Mackenzie Reed tells Seehafernews.com that residents should confirm their correct polling place at myvote.wi.gov.
On the website, residents can check if they are eligible to vote and what’s on their ballot.
“Voters should be prepared with their photo ID,” she noted. “And then if they do need to register to vote, they can do that right at their polling location as long as they have a proof of residence document with them.”
After residents cast their ballots and the polls close, workers tabulate all the results and print the totals.
Then, Reed’s staff will do what’s called voter participation promotion.
“We use electronic poll books,” she explained. “It’s an upload process where we are uploading the data from the Badger Books into the Wisconsin voter database and the Wisconsin Elections Commission says within 30 days I think like that after the election, voters can expect to see their participation count for the election.”
Residents have until 8:00 p.m. tonight to cast their ballot.
If you are in line when the polls close, you are still allowed to cast a ballot.
You can tune in to 98.9 FM WOMT 100 or 980 WCUB tonight from 8:00 to midnight for election updates.
