This week saw the Port of Green Bay set a new single-day record.
Six commercial vessels carrying over 55,000 metric tons of cargo entered the port on October 24th, continuing a strong final push to the end of the sailing season.
American Mariner brought in limestone from Rogers City, Michigan; MV Prime was carrying petroleum products from Canada; wood products from Finland were dropped off by MV Fuldaborg; the Kaye E. Barker came in from Cleveland, Ohio, carrying coal; gypsum from Zilwaukee, Michigan was sailed in by Pere Marquette/Undaunted, and Endeavour/Karen Andrie shipped in asphalt from Whiting, Indiana.
Port Director Dean Haen called the milestone a “testament to the hard work of our terminal operators, vessel crews, and everyone involved in keeping cargo moving efficiently through Port.”
