Wisconsin Farmer Union is celebrating the launch of the PFAS Testing Grant Program.
They have announced the launch of two statewide grant programs that will provide funding to help communities sample private wells and public water.
The water supplied will be for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances contamination.
The programs, PFAS Community Grants Sampling Program and Wisconsin PFAS Private Well Testing Program, were authorized by the 2025 Wisconsin Acts 200 and 201.
WFU was a proud supporter of these bills during the 2025 and 2026 legislative sessions.
The grant programs will also be supported by $125 million in funding through the PFAS Trust Fund.
Through these Grant Sampling Programs, municipalities may apply for funding and develop their own water sampling programs.
Private well owners and users who are not located in a municipality pursuing a community grant can receive an at home sampling kit.
Municipalities and private well owners and users who do utilize these programs can find PFAS contamination may be able to apply for remediation funding through the Well Compensation Grant Programs.
