One of the top cheese producers in the country is continuing to expand its footprint in Plymouth.
The Sartori Company is investing $47 million to expand and equip its whey conversion operation by adding 68,000 square feet to the existing 100,000-plus square foot converting plant in order to house five new production lines.
The addition is also expected to create up to 27 new jobs at Sartori.
On the project, Sartori CEO Bert Sartori explained, “This 68,000-square-foot expansion of our converting facility will increase capacity and create opportunities for innovation as we continue sharing great cheese with customers and consumers around the world.”
He also added, “With this support, we’re proud to continue investing in Plymouth and building for the future. This expansion will support demand for top-quality local milk, create 27 new jobs, and strengthen the communities that have supported Sartori for generations.”
Ground was broken on the project, which is being supported by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, last December, with the building expected to be completed in spring of next year.
