A felony murder trial is off the books for a man accused of orchestrating a botched robbery that killed his teenage cousin.
Court records show Devon Mason will avoid trial after scheduling a plea and sentencing hearing for Friday morning.
Prosecutors say Mason arranged for his cousin and another teenager to rob his personal barber in Fitchburg.
During a struggle between the group, the barber opened fire, fatally shooting Mason’s cousin.
Mason faces charges including felony murder and attempted armed robbery as a party to a crime.
