The Sheboygan Area School District has highlighted the recent work of its students.
October 21st served as Sheboygan South High School’s annual Service Day, an event that has gained momentum since its implementation in 2015.
Since the inception of South High’s Service Day, it has grown into an all-day endeavor for students and staff alike.
This year, nearly 1,000 students participated along with 100 staff members.
As previously reported, some students aided the Sheboygan Police Department to remove graffiti and pick up trash throughout the city, however, that is just one of the many projects students completed last week.
Other Service Day work included reading with elementary students, cleaning school spaces, making blankets, painting fences, baking cookies, and much more.
To close, SASD commended the South High students’ work, noting, “Service Day is a powerful example of students putting their skills into action, strengthening community connections, and living out our shared goals of college and career readiness.”
