A remodel at Plymouth High School has transformed a learning space for students.
Upon returning from summer break, Plymouth students came back to a significantly remodeled woodshop thanks to a substantial donation from Jerry and Pat Moriarity.
According to PHS tech ed teacher Jake Sherman, the updates were much needed, who said, “The new layout of the shop makes day-to-day work more efficient and safer. The last time any major changes were made in there was when the school was built in the 1960s.”
In total, the shop received nine new machines on top of substantial facility upgrades, with the final project report stating, “Every change in this remodel was made with students in mind: a safe, organized, modern woodshop built for hands-on learning, where students are able to develop the skills industry expects.”
