Two Rivers Police have charged two people with intentional homicide in the death of Payton Vertz. 26-year-old Dominic Pilgreen and 15-year-old Nathan Reichard both Face charges of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, theft from a person or corpse and false imprisonment. Pilgreen is also charged with physical abuse of a child, while Reichard also faces charges of substantial battery. Reichard is being charged as an adult.
Vertz’s body was found in the water near the Seagull Marina in Two Rivers on Friday, October 16th. Police Chief Ben Meinnert said the department has worked closely with the Two Rivers Public School District during the investigation, realizing the impact the case may have had on students and staff. He said a benefit for Vertz’s family will be held at the Two Rivers Community House on November 14th from 11 am to 4 pm, and asked that family’s privacy continue to be respected as they grieve. The family has established an official GoFundMe.
