After two months of steady declines, home prices in Manitowoc County are at their highest point in over two years.
The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association has released its September Real Estate Report, which lists the median price for the 96 homes sold that month in Manitowoc County at $270,000.
This is $29,000 higher than in September, $7,500 higher than at any point this year, and $30,000 more than last September.
However, the median price for the 6,284 homes sold throughout the state went down $20,000 to $342,000.
For comparison, Sheboygan County’s median price for the 97 homes sold in September was $315,000, which is equal to September of 2025.
The report also noted that “Mortgage rates rose about 0.5% over the last 12 months, resulting in fewer home sales and moderating home price appreciation.”
Tom Larson, the President & CEO, Wisconsin REALTORS® Association, explained, “Mortgage rates have reached their highest level since January 2025. If these trends continue, both buyers and sellers will be affected. Specifically, lower affordability obviously hurts buyers, and higher rates also keep potential sellers from listing their homes because they don’t want to give up the very favorable rates locked in over the last six years.”
