Manitowoc Fire Rescue will help another town with ambulance coverage.
The Common Council approved an updated contract to provide the entire Town of Kossuth with coverage.
Previously, Manitowoc Fire Rescue only covered about 3/4 of the town, with Mishicot Ambulance covering the rest.
As Mishicot Ambulance reduces its role, Fire Chief Ben Kraynek recommended taking on the entire township and adding 10.5 square miles, or about 500 people.
It also cleans up and streamlines the contract between the two municipalities.
The Town of Kossuth also includes the Town of Rockwood and the Villages of Francis Creek and Kellnersville.
