Columbia County Sheriff Roger Brandner and his wife are recovering after a serious motorcycle crash on Sunday.
Brandner says the accident happened when a deer ran directly into their motorcycle as they were returning home from a church event.
Both were airlifted from the scene to receive emergency medical care for their injuries.
The sheriff remains hospitalized but expects to be released soon.
