The jury is still deliberating in the case of Timothy Hauschultz, but they have come back with a question.
They asked Judge Carey Reed, “When transporting an individual to the hospital in a vehicle other than an emergency vehicle and after giving first aid, would that be considered necessary medical care?”
The state and the defense agreed on the answer that they “Must rely on their collective memories and the instructions given by the court.”
A second question was also posed, asking what constitutes “care” and “necessary medical care?”
There was some back and forth on how it should be answered before Judge Reed gave them the statutory definition of necessary care, and told them to use the same answer from the first question for defining necessary medical care.
When the answers were given, the jury had been deliberating for nearly 5 hours after doing so for nearly 6 hours the day prior.
1:3Hauschultz is facing six charges in relation to the 2018 death of his 7-year-old great-nephew, Ethan Hauschultz.
