A large-scale road project in Sheboygan County is nearing completion.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has provided the public with an update on the work being done on State Highway 28 between Lyndon and Kohler, noting that work is nearing its end but is not yet finished.
Highway 28 was picked for this resurfacing project in an effort to improve safety on the roadway.
This included the widening of the shoulder by five feet, curb, guardrail, and gutter replacement, and a new centerline and rumble strips.
Additionally, crews replaced the culvert structure at the Onion River with a bridge, also in the hopes of improving driver safety.
The work on 28 spans from State Highway 57 east to County Road A.
If plans continue as scheduled, the Highway 28 resurfacing project is expected to be completed in November.
