The girls volleyball season has come to an end for several local teams, but a couple are still alive.
Starting with the good news, Reedsville jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Oneida Nation in the WIAA Division 4 Regional Quarterfinals, and held off a valiant effort in the third set, sweeping Thunderhawks 25-5, 25-17, 27-25.
The Panthers will face the 3rd-seeded Roncalli Jets tomorrow.
However, Two Rivers did not fare as well in Division 2, with the Raiders’ season coming to an end at the hands of Winneconne in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-16.
Mishicot suffered a similar fate in Division 3, falling to Southern Door 25-22, 25-23, 25-16, while Valders fell to Cedar Grove-Belgium in straight sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-20.
Elsewhere, Chilton knocked off Kiel 25-21, 25-17, 25-23, and will take on the local powerhouse, Manitowoc Lutheran, on Thursday.
Division 1 openers, including Manitowoc Lincoln’s opening matchup, will also be held tomorrow.
