Federal authorities in Wisconsin are prosecuting a massive maritime drug bust involving more than $17 million worth of cocaine.
Three Mexican nationals affiliated with the Sinaloa Cartel were extradited following their arrest off the coast of Costa Rica, where law enforcement intercepted over 800 kilograms of pure cocaine aboard a U.S.-registered yacht.
Federal prosecutors announced the charges yesterday, calling it one of the largest drug seizures ever prosecuted in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Officials emphasized that stopping the shipment prevented tens of millions of dollars in illegal drugs from reaching American communities.
