A Milwaukee police officer is recovering after being seriously injured during an arrest attempt.
Police say a 22-year-old man fled a traffic stop, crashed into a tree, and ran from the scene.
Investigators say the suspect tried to disarm an officer, then grabbed a gun magazine from the officer’s vest and struck him repeatedly.
Additional officers responded and took the suspect and a 19-year-old passenger into custody.
Police also recovered multiple firearms and suspected narcotics from the vehicle.
