Although the weather remains nice, the City of Manitowoc’s Parks and Recreation Department is preparing for winter.
Drinking fountain winterization and bathroom closures are taking place this week to ensure city facilities can withstand colder temperatures.
Six public restrooms will remain open all winter, including the ones at Halverson Park, Lighthouse Park, Lincoln Park Cabin #1, Lincoln Park Zoo, Manitou Park, and the Silver Creek Fieldhouse.
Restrooms could also stay open at the Lincoln Park Concession Stand and Rheaume Park as long as the weather cooperates.
Parks and Recreation Director Brock Wetenkamp explained that all public restrooms not mentioned will be closed on or before the day of October 30th.
The Citizen Park Concessions Stand is an exception because of scheduled softball games.
Those restrooms will not close until November 13th.
