The Kaukauna Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its longtime police K9 officers.
K9 Rocko passed away on October 7th.
He served the City of Kaukauna for eight years alongside his partner and handler, Officer Meyer.
The Department said of his accomplishments, “Throughout his career, Rocko helped detect illegal drugs, apprehend dangerous subjects, and assist in searching for missing/fleeing persons. After he retired from his patrol duties, he was an active member throughout the Kaukauna School District as Officer Meyer transitioned to the role of School Resource Officer.”
But he was more than a good police dog.
The Department recalled, “Throughout his shifts, he would often wander throughout the halls of our police department looking for extra food scraps from his fellow officers… Rocko’s legacy will live well beyond his years, not only as our first K9, but as one of the best working K9s in the area.”
