Manitowoc Lincoln will be represented by three girls’ tennis players at next week’s WIAA State Individual Tennis Tournament in Madison.
Head Coach Paige Cotton told Seehafer News.com that the Ships’ number-one doubles team, Elighana Camacho and Julia Jagemann, earned a trip to state.
Despite losing their first-round match at sectionals on Thursday, their overall body of work was impressive enough to earn them a trip to Madison as a special qualifier in the Division One field.
They’ll join freshman Ava Wetenkamp, who earned a trip to state in number one singles with two victories at sectionals on Thursday.
Play at the state meet begins on Thursday, October 15th, and will conclude on Saturday, October 17th, at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the University of Wisconsin Campus.
