A man from Virginia has been convicted in his drug case in Manitowoc County.
30-year-old Corven M. Jones was sentenced to four years in initial confinement followed by six years on extended supervision after he and two other men tried to bring in 25 pounds of methamphetamine into the county.
According to court records, Judge Mark Rohrer was concerned about whether or not Jones needed to know that the substance delivered was meth.
Manitowoc County District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre submitted case law showing that wasn’t the case.
Conditions of Jones’ bond include maintaining absolute sobriety, maintaining full-time employment, and submitting to random urine screenings.
The 30-year-old was found guilty due to a no-contest plea for manufacturing and delivering an amphetamine in July this year.
Jones’ two accomplices, Karonn Hamilton and Andrea Allen, have been convicted in their federal court cases after their circuit court cases were dismissed.
