A Dodge County Sheriff’s Office community service officer was injured while helping investigate a deadly crash in the Town of Elba.
An SUV and a semi-truck collided just before 7:00 a.m. after investigators say the semi driver failed to stop at a stop sign.
The SUV driver, a 77-year-old Jefferson man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the semi driver suffered minor injuries.
While traffic was being redirected around the crash site, another vehicle struck the officer’s squad vehicle, pushing it into the officer.
The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and both crashes remain under investigation.
