A local ambulance service provider is once again helping students pursue higher education.
Sheboygan’s Orange Cross Ambulance has shared that they have begun accepting applications for the George Sippel EMS Scholarship.
The annual scholarship will provide $1,000 toward an EMS education at a Wisconsin Technical College in honor of the award’s namesake.
Sippel was a dedicated firefighter and EMT from Plymouth who continues to have a lasting impact on the community even after his passing.
Applicants are required to be either Sheboygan or Manitowoc County residents, with the scholarship having a particular focus on adult learners who may be beginning a new career, returning to school, or advancing their education in EMS.
On the scholarship, Orange Cross’ Jeremy Langnese noted, “By helping someone take that first step into EMS or continue their education, George’s legacy of service can continue through future generations of first responders.”
Applications are due no later than December 1st and can be found at orangecross.org.
