Two Newton residents are in custody after conspiring to murder someone.
37-year-old Larry Wallen was given a $150,000 cash bail while 49-year-old Christina Seguin received a $10,000 cash bail from Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch yesterday (October 7th).
Both Wallen and Seguin have been charged with Solicitation to Commit First-Degree Intentional Homicide.
According to Manitowoc County District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre, Wallen solicited an individual to kill his wife as the two were in the process of getting divorced.
These conversations between him and Seguin are said to have begun in September and continued through October before their arrest.
The DA also noted that there were various meetings, comments, and forms of planning, including the 37-year-old offering a date he thought would work best for his wife to be killed.
At that same hearing, the victim pleaded with Commissioner Scharenbroch to give both suspects a significant bail as she now feared for her life and for the safety of her child after finding out about her husband’s alleged plan to have her murdered.
Wallen and Seguin will now return to court on Monday (October 12th) to make their initial appearances in Branch 3.
