Municipalities around the area are gearing up for their annual fall leaf pickup.
Two Rivers city crews will begin picking up leaves on November 2nd, starting on the city’s east side before moving back through the center to the north side.
Leaf pickup will finish on Two Rivers’ west side.
Because of the equipment used, all leaves must be placed in the gutter along the curb line and not on the terrace, or area between the curb and sidewalk.
The city will also not be collecting grass clippings, branches, sod, or other yard waste.
Two Rivers residents who want to move their leaves can take them to the Manitowoc County compost sites on Basswood Road or Woodland Drive.
This fall leaf pickup will be the only one in the Cool City and will not happen this spring. The city is starting its leaf pickup later this year due to a strong May storm.
Anyone with questions can call the City of Two Rivers Public Works Department at 920-793-5539.
Updates to the current pickup area will be posted on the city’s website at two-rivers.org and on the Two Rivers, WI, City Hall Facebook page.
Meanwhile, the Cities of Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls will begin assisting residents with their annual fall leaf pickup this month.
City collection efforts in Plymouth will begin on October 12th, while Sheboygan Falls will start three days later on October 15th.
In both municipalities, City staff are asking residents to leave leaves in neatly raked piles along the curb and away from any vehicles parked on the road.
Ahead of the collection schedule, both locales are also reminding residents that piles should contain leaves only and that piles containing pumpkins, branches, shrub or perennial trimmings, or any other yard waste will not be picked up by City crews.
In Plymouth, no end date was provided for when collections will end; however, in Sheboygan Falls, this year’s leaf collections will run through November 25th, weather permitting.
