A woman charged with firing a gun and pointing it at someone will proceed with her case.
During a competency hearing, Judge Jerilyn Dietz ruled that 42-year-old Amy Duerwaechter is competent to proceed with her trial.
This comes after both prosecutors and the defense decided not to contest a doctor’s ruling from May.
Judge Dietz then set a scheduling conference for October 28th.
Duerwaechter was arrested in April last year after Manitowoc Police were called to a disturbance in the 1600 block of Galax Drive.
It was later learned that the 42-year-old pointed a weapon at an individual and fired it into the air.
Police say she can also be seen on camera chasing the person with the weapon pointed at the victim.
Duerwaechter has been formally charged with one count of 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of intentionally pointing a firearm at someone, and disorderly conduct.
