
Authorities in Neenah are investigating an incident that left two people dead.
The Neenah Police Department was called to the Freedom Acres subdivision just before 5:00 p.m. Sunday (October 4th) on a report of shots being fired.
Once on scene, officers discovered a deceased 57-year-old female and a deceased 59-year-old male.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the 59-year-old male shot and killed the female victim before turning the gun on himself, taking his own life.
Neenah PD believes this was an isolated incident and that the public was not and is not in danger.
Currently, the investigation into the suspected murder/suicide remains ongoing, and no further details, including the names of the deceased, will be shared at this time.
In a public statement, the Neenah Police Department thanked Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue, Gold Cross Ambulance, and the Winnebago County Medical Examiner’s Office for their assistance.
