A local transit company is looking to connect the community one bus at a time.
Sheboygan’s bus company, Shoreline Metro, has unveiled its new Bus & Beyond Community Day, offering riders fare-free trips.
Bus & Beyond Community Day will take place monthly, with residents able to ride the bus for free on the third Wednesday every month.
On the reasoning for this new program, Shoreline Metro stated it was “designed to help connect residents with essential community services, employment opportunities, shopping, clinics, and other important destinations.”
Through the program, individuals may ride any route at any time on these days to any destination.
To close, Shoreline Metro added, “Bus & Beyond Community Day is designed to be a feel‑good, community‑focused program that expands access, strengthens partnerships, and promotes the value of public transit. The program supports community integration, encourages new riders to try transit, and helps remove transportation barriers for those needing to reach services.”
The first Bus & Beyond Community Day will be Wednesday, October 21st.
