The Valders Vikings football team looks for a third consecutive win tonight as they host the Two Rivers Raiders on Homecoming.
The Vikings dropped their first three games of the season but have turned it around over the last couple of weeks thanks to stellar defense and special teams.
They’ve limited their last two opponents (St. Mary Catholic and Chilton) to a touchdown each and look to continue that success against a very young Two Rivers team that has lost four straight.
Penalties and turnovers at inopportune times have cost the Raiders, who haven’t won a game since defeating Ripon back in week two (28-22).
Two Rivers is looking to play the role of spoiler, and we’ll broadcast the game on AM 980 WCUB and CubRadio.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. Roncalli will also host Homecoming tonight as they welcome St. Mary Catholic to Ron Rubick Field.
The Jets have dropped two straight following a victory over Two Rivers back on September 10th (24-17).
Injuries have played a significant role in their recent skid, and they will have to deal with a St. Mary Catholic team that’s in the thick of the EWC race at 3-1 and has won four of its last five, with its one loss being against Valders back on September 18th (20-7).
Something must give tonight at City Stadium in Green Bay as winless Green Bay East hosts winless Manitowoc Lincoln for their Homecoming game.
