A Mishicot man has died after his UTV hit a deer and a utility pole.
Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig tells SeehaferNews.com that his deputies were called to the area of State Highway 42 just north of East Hillcrest Road at 7:15 last night (September 30th) on a report of a UTV crash.
The Sheriff’s Office was joined by fire and EMS personnel from around the area, as they learned a yet unnamed 47-year-old man was returning home from a hunting trip in his UTV when he struck a deer.
The collision caused the man to lose control and enter the east ditch, which caused the vehicle to overturn and strike a utility pole.
The driver was ejected, and despite life-saving measures being taken at the scene, the man died from his injuries.
It was also noted that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Wisconsin DNR, Two Rivers Police Department, Mishicot Ambulance, Town of Two Rivers Fire Department, City of Two Rivers Fire Department, Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office, PK’s Auto, County Highway Department, Joint Dispatch Center, and WPS.
