A sentencing hearing has been delayed for a Virginia man convicted of bringing the largest amount of methamphetamine to Manitowoc County.
Court records show that the case for 30-year-old Corven M. Jones was brought back up on Sunday.
He was scheduled to be sentenced, but because prosecutors and the defense disagreed over the elements of discovery and the conspiracy charges, Judge Mark Rohrer set a new sentencing date for Jones for October 6th.
Prosecutors say the 30-year-old has 284 days of credit in jail after getting the pre-sentence investigation.
Jones’ attorney wanted to clarify something, causing the disagreement. Jones was arrested in December last year after he and two other men were caught by the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit transporting 25 pounds of meth into the county.
Jones has since been found guilty due to a no-contest plea for manufacturing and delivering an amphetamine.
Kaaron Hamilton and Andre Allen have already been sentenced on federal drug charges in the case.
