The Wisconsin Maritime Museum continues a monthly event looking at one of the most significant volcanic eruptions in U.S. history.
The topic of October’s Think and Drink, which takes place this Thursday (October 1st), will be about the eruption of Mount St. Helens on May 18th, 1980.
It transformed hundreds of square miles of Pacific Northwest forest into what seemed like a lifeless landscape.
Dr. Eric Wagner will speak about the historic eruption and explore how plants and animals reshaped scientists’ understanding of the ecosystem’s recovery after the catastrophic event.
Admission to the maritime museum’s Think and Drink is free and open to the public.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with a cash bar offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.
