The City of Sheboygan may be helping residents with boat storage next winter.
This week, the City’s Public Works Committee unanimously approved a contract with C3 Storage LLC to run a marine vessel winter storage operation at the Harbor Centre Marina.
Under the contract, C3 Storage will lease City property within the marina and Deland Park over the winter months, allowing those with boats to safely store their vessels while out of the water.
Regarding the need for this type of program, Sheboygan’s Marina Manager, Jeremiah Montgomery, said, “This proposed contract will accommodate the need for winter storage by providing off-season revenue for the City of Sheboygan. In addition, it will also help maintain strong year-round relationships between the municipality and its boating community.”
Per the agreement, C3 Storage would make a one-time $4,000 payment to the City in addition to “any compensation to (C3 Storage) obtained through vessel lease agreements and related services.”
If the contract is fully approved by the Common Council, winter storage at the marina would begin at the end of 2027.
